The goal of our ESL for Business Communication programme is to improve the English skills you already have and develop your knowledge of business strategies. We want you to communicate with confidence in the workplace. Our ESL for Business Communication workshops take everyday business situations and present them in a fun and dynamic way that is enjoyable and conducive to learning. Our ESL for Business Communication programme is divided into three stages – Elementary, Intermediate and Upper Intermediate. We can determine your level through a specially developed test. You will learn about many different grammatical structures and explore various business topics. Our course includes:
Telephone Lessons
These lessons deal specifically with telephone English and focus on building your confidence to talk with someone whose face you cannot see.
Back to Basics
These lessons will review the basic patterns of English. These are the things you learned at school but have probably forgotten!
Role Plays
These lessons give you the chance to strengthen your speaking abilities by acting out imaginary situations.
Focus Lessons
These Lessons focus on areas that we feel you need more work with. They could focus on grammar, vocabulary, listening, writing or anything else – it is up to your teacher! These lessons are also an opportunity for you to bring your work to class and discuss your English with the teacher and the group.
Passing the Course
To pass you must have a total score of 70% or more. Your score is based on three categories:
Attendance
Thirty per cent of your score will be based on your attendance. Please note that if you are more than twenty minutes late for a class, the teacher will mark you as absent.
Participation
Another 30 per cent of your score is for your participation in class. Your performance during the Role Play Lessons is also taken into consideration here.
Final Test
You will take a test at the end of Stage 1 and the result will count for 40 per cent of your final score.
